Penny Kenton has donated a beautiful artwork to Hadley Wood shul, in the form of a tree to celebrate the life of her late husband, and our great friend Steven Kenton. Steven was a tireless worker in moving our community forward, and in keeping with his spirit this tree will help us further the many objectives that he helped to set up.
The leaves of the tree are available for engraving to celebrate special occasions or other events that you may wish to commemorate – birthdays, anniversaries, achievements, marriages, bar/bat mitzvahs, or just to tell someone that you love them. Over time the tree will become a record of the many happy events that help to shape our community. There is space for roughly 60 characters to be engraved on each leaf, enough to record the event, date, and names. Hebrew letters can also be used. Donation will cost £250 plus £50 (cost of the engraving), but of course you are welcome to donate as much as you wish. The money received for the Tree of celebration will not be used for day-to-day costs but will be kept separately for strategic purposes as decided by the Executive Committee, especially to help us achieve financial stability through discharging the mortgage on our Shul property.
We are very grateful to Penny and her family for this great gesture, and Penny has agreed to be administrator of the tree. You can contact her on email: firstname.lastname@example.org, or ring 07866 492182.
